CNC Stave Milling Machine
CNC Controlled Arc Generation
The milling spindles follow a precise arc trajectory as the stave feeds through.
Dual Spindles – Left & Right Edges Simultaneously
Two high-speed spindles machine both side edges in one pass – no flipping or re-feeding.
Automatic Stave Feeding with Pneumatic Hold-Down
Variable-speed feed rollers pull the stave through; pneumatic pressure rollers keep it flat and aligned.
Touch Screen Profile Library
One-touch recall.
Integrated Chip Extraction
Large dust hoods over each cutter head, connected to a central dust collector
To assemble a leak-proof barrel, each stave must fit perfectly against its neighbors. The side edges of every stave – not the inner or outer faces – determine how tightly the staves close together to form a circular barrel. Our CNC Stave Milling Machine precisely mills the left and right edges of rectangular oak staves into a continuous, matched arc profile. When multiple staves are assembled, these arced edges create the correct barrel curvature, ensuring a tight, hoop-ready barrel with no gaps.
Why CNC Milling for Stave Edges?
Traditional methods (hand planing or using a stationary shaper with a curved jig) are slow, inconsistent, and cannot produce true arcs along the entire edge length. Our CNC Stave Milling Machine offers:
True arc geometry – edges are not straight but follow a programmed radius, matching the barrel’s cross-section curve.
Perfect edge matching – every stave’s left and right arcs are complementary, so adjacent staves contact along the entire length.
High throughput – mill 6–10 staves per minute.
Quick changeover – switch between barrel sizes in under 10 minutes.
