Description

A barrel head (or head) is not a single piece of wood – it is assembled from multiple narrow staves joined edge-to-edge. The strength and tightness of those edge joints determine whether your barrel head will crack, leak, or last for years. Our Barrel Head Stave Tenoning Machine cuts precise tongue (tenon) and groove (mortise) profiles on both sides of each stave, creating a perfect interlocking joint that withstands liquid pressure and seasonal wood movement.

Why a Dedicated Head Stave Jointing Machine?
Simple butt joints or unprofiled edges rely solely on glue, which fails over time. Our Barrel Head Stave Tenoning Machine interlocking:

Tongue & groove fit – prevents lateral shifting and gap formation.

No Glue– the Tenoning for a stronger bond.

Consistent geometry – every stave matches perfectly, reducing sanding and rework.

High output – process 300–500 staves per hour.
