Wolin Cooperage was founded in 2005 and commenced production in 2008, making it an early adopter of Western techniques and professional teams in China's oak barrel manufacturing industry. It was co-founded by Australian technical expert Alan Conigrave and Chinese founder Fang Jisheng.

Whisky aged by Wolin Cooperage has won awards in Japan, and Wolin has been recognized as a gold supplier.
As of 2024, Wolin had trained two national-level wine judges and established an international professional team.
Wollin has been awarded the prestigious international whisky award, the "Icons of Whisky," and its founder, Mr. Fang Jisheng, has become the first person in the oak barrel industry to be inducted into the World Whisky Hall of Fame.
